What gas stations in Fort Collins offer the best prices?

Based on reputation, I wasn't sure if Fort Collins even had cars. But then I got stuck at the train tracks at Riverside and Lemay during lunch hour. Apparently it's the hip spot to be because everyone gathered to shut off their motors for a while and check Facebook.

Turns out, the majority of those cars run on gas. But the pain in the pump doesn't have to be quite as bad if you know where to look. According to fuel data from AAA, two stations consistently standout for gas savings.

The Corner Store at 4701 S. Lemay Ave. and Western Convenience Store at 816 E. Mulberry St. regularly top the list for the least expensive places to fill up. At the last report, Corner Store has unleaded for $3.329 and Western Convenience Store was listed at $3.389. Both prices were updated with AAA in the last 24 hours.

If you're rolling around the Choice City with a diesel engine, you may want to head over to Safeway at 1426 E Harmony Rd. or Western Convenience Store at 382 E Mountain Ave.

And if you're looking for an in-state road trip for that newly filled tank, you could do a lot worse than these scenic Colorado highways.

Why is the former County Cork building on SW corner of Drake and Redwing fenced off?

A great question. With all the restaurants going in and out over the years, you'd think pizzas or burgers were on the way.

As the County Cork for more than 20 years, it was well known for its St. Patrick's Day festivities. After that it became Tailgate Tommy's for a time and the The Passport.

But in this case, history is no indicator of what will happen next.

Back in April, Miramont Family Medicine, in partnership with Palmer Properties LLC, has purchased the long-vacant County Cork restaurant, 313 Drake Road, for its fifth location. They are currently working on their new facility.

There are plenty of new restaurants on the way. This location, however, is not one of them.

What's an economical way to transport two people to and from Old Town (on say a Saturday evening) from down around Harmony Road and Lemay Ave?

My vote: grab a headband, throw on those running shoes and take off on a nice 5 mile jog. Sounds like an awesome Saturday night!

No? Just me?

If you're looking for non-pedistrian options but aren't keen on driving yourself, it largely depends on how fast you'd like to get there. Riding bikes is quite possible, taking the Power Trail to the Spring Creek Trail to Poudre Trail. Here's the map you'd need to get there. (Just remember your bike light, lock and helmet. Deodorant may not be the worst idea either.)

There's also Transfort service, but that ends by about 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays, meaning you'll get into Old Town via a bus and a transfer at the mall, but can't get back that way. The bus doesn't run Sundays. But if that works for you, there's a map for that as well. With free transfers, a one-way trip would cost you a whopping $2.50 total.

There are also cabs available in town. Probably not your most economical option, but fairly reliable and you won't have to stop for passengers. Transfort on the way to Old Town and heading back in the cab might drop the price a bit for you. You can contact Yellow Cab at 970-224-2222.

Enjoy the evening! If you need recommendations on places to go, just let me know. Coloradoan.com/entertainment always has something for you to enjoy on your night out.

What is a good bank with safety deposit boxes?

What's the most important ingredient in Aunt Mildred's secret cornbread recipe?

Secrecy, of course.

And as such, you need a vault to keep it in. I can't speak to the other practices and features of the following financial institutions (except to say they are all FDIC members), but these Fort Collins banks all advertise safety deposit boxes for rent.

Home State Bank, has three locations in Fort Collins. Find out more by giving them a call at 970-203-6100.

Greeley-based Cache Bank & Trust has two locations in Fort Collins. You can reach them at 970-493-4111.

Key Bank at 100 E. Drake can also advertises the ability to lock up your valuables. Get in touch with Key Bank at 970-416-6006.

I'll keep checking on this answer and may add more to the list before too long. If you have other features you are looking for, shoot me another message and I'll narrow it down a bit.
